THE PROJECT
TO PRESERVE THE MEMORIES
OF
RYHOPE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL
THE PROJECT
Ryhope Comprehensive School first opened in September 1969 following the amalgamation of Ryhope Secondary Modern School and Robert Richardson Grammar School to form a unique progressive school in the north east of England.
The school catered for 1300 pupils across two sites, the North Block and the South Block separated by a main road which eventually was connected by a footbridge
With a colourful history (and notorious name to those unconnected with the school), this is a website devoted to preserving the archives and memories of the school and the people who attended it.
